Mở ra hướng đi bền vững cho sản xuất nông, lâm nghiệp Phú Yên
Trong bối cảnh sản xuất nông, lâm nghiệp đang chịu nhiều tác động từ biến đổi khí hậu, suy thoái giống và yêu cầu ngày càng cao của thị trường, việc ứng dụng khoa học công nghệ vào khâu giống được xem là chìa khóa nâng cao năng suất và hiệu quả kinh tế. Tại Phú Yên, công nghệ nuôi cấy mô tế bào đã và đang được nhiều đơn vị nghiên cứu, ứng dụng thành công, góp phần tạo ra nguồn cây giống chất lượng cao, đồng đều, sạch bệnh và phù hợp với điều kiện sinh thái của địa phương. Kết quả bước đầu cho thấy đây là hướng đi đúng đắn, mở ra nhiều triển vọng cho sản xuất nông, lâm nghiệp theo hướng hiện đại và bền vững.
Cây giống chất lượng – nền tảng của sản xuất hiệu quả
Nuôi cấy mô tế bào là phương pháp nhân giống vô tính trong điều kiện vô trùng, cho phép tạo ra số lượng lớn cây con trong thời gian ngắn, đảm bảo tính đồng nhất về di truyền và hạn chế tối đa mầm bệnh. Trên thực tế, đây không phải là công nghệ mới, nhưng vài năm trở lại đây, việc ứng dụng nuôi cấy mô tại Phú Yên đã có những bước tiến rõ rệt, đặc biệt trong sản xuất cây giống phục vụ nông, lâm nghiệp.
Nhiều đơn vị trên địa bàn tỉnh đã nghiên cứu, trồng thử nghiệm và cung cấp ra thị trường các loại giống cấy mô như chuối, mía, hoa lan, hoa cúc, cây dược liệu và các loài cây lâm nghiệp chủ lực. Những kết quả thu được cho thấy cây giống cấy mô có khả năng sinh trưởng mạnh, thích nghi tốt với điều kiện khí hậu địa phương, đồng thời cho năng suất và chất lượng vượt trội so với phương pháp nhân giống truyền thống.
Trong lĩnh vực lâm nghiệp, ông Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, Trưởng Trạm Thực nghiệm giống lâm nghiệp thuộc Trung tâm Giống nông nghiệp, Sở Nông nghiệp và Phát triển nông thôn cho biết, hiện nay nhiều hộ dân vẫn sử dụng phương pháp gieo ươm hạt hoặc giâm hom để sản xuất cây giống lâm nghiệp. Tuy nhiên, với các loài như bạch đàn, việc gieo hạt dễ dẫn đến thoái hóa giống, cây sinh trưởng chậm, phân cành sớm, chiều cao hạn chế và chất lượng gỗ không đồng đều. Trong khi đó, phương pháp giâm hom lại bị hạn chế về số lượng cây giống, khó đáp ứng nhu cầu trồng rừng quy mô lớn.
Xuất phát từ yêu cầu nâng cao chất lượng rừng trồng, thời gian qua, Trạm Thực nghiệm giống lâm nghiệp đã triển khai nhân giống bạch đàn và keo lai bằng công nghệ nuôi cấy mô, cung cấp cho nhiều hộ dân và đơn vị trồng rừng trên địa bàn tỉnh. Thực tế sản xuất cho thấy, cây cấy mô sinh trưởng ổn định, khả năng chống chịu tốt, ít bị ngã đổ và cho chất lượng gỗ cao hơn, góp phần nâng cao giá trị kinh tế rừng trồng.
Đối với cây ăn quả, chuối là ví dụ điển hình cho hiệu quả của công nghệ nuôi cấy mô. Trước đây, chuối được trồng chủ yếu bằng cách tách cây con từ cây mẹ, qua nhiều năm canh tác khiến giống bị thoái hóa, buồng nhỏ, trái không đồng đều, nhiều hạt và hàm lượng dinh dưỡng thấp. Nhận thấy hạn chế này, nhiều đơn vị như Trung tâm Ứng dụng và Chuyển giao công nghệ thuộc Sở Khoa học và Công nghệ, Trung tâm Nghiên cứu và Phát triển nông nghiệp công nghệ cao, Trung tâm Giống nông nghiệp Phú Yên đã chuyển sang nhân giống chuối bằng phương pháp nuôi cấy mô.

Theo anh Đặng Đức Vàng, nông dân xã Đức Bình Tây, huyện Sông Hinh, so với chuối giống tách từ cây mẹ theo phương pháp truyền thống, cây chuối cấy mô có kích thước ban đầu nhỏ hơn, nhưng sau khi trồng lại sinh trưởng rất nhanh. Chỉ sau khoảng 8 đến 9 tháng, cây bắt đầu trổ buồng, đậu trái và sau đó khoảng 3 tháng có thể thu hoạch. Thời gian cho thu hoạch sớm hơn từ 3 đến 4 tháng so với chuối trồng từ giống truyền thống, đồng thời năng suất và chất lượng trái cũng cao hơn, mang lại hiệu quả kinh tế rõ rệt cho người trồng.
Không chỉ giúp tăng thu nhập cho nông dân, việc sử dụng giống cấy mô còn góp phần nâng cao hiệu quả sử dụng đất, giảm rủi ro dịch bệnh và tạo điều kiện thuận lợi cho việc áp dụng các quy trình canh tác tiên tiến, hướng tới sản xuất nông nghiệp bền vững.

Nguồn cung còn hạn chế, giá thành vẫn là rào cản
Mặc dù mang lại nhiều lợi ích, song việc đưa cây giống cấy mô vào sản xuất đại trà tại Phú Yên hiện vẫn gặp không ít khó khăn. Giống là yếu tố quyết định năng suất và sản lượng cây trồng, nhưng trên thực tế, đa số các cơ sở nuôi cấy mô trong tỉnh hiện nay chủ yếu phục vụ nghiên cứu, thí nghiệm, quy mô nhỏ, chưa đủ năng lực đáp ứng nhu cầu sản xuất lớn.
Ông Trần Văn Hóa, Trưởng Phòng Kỹ thuật Công ty TNHH MTV Bảo Châu Phú Yên cho biết, năm 2020 công ty trồng mới 633ha rừng, nâng tổng diện tích rừng trồng lên gần 4.000ha. Trong số đó, diện tích trồng bằng cây cấy mô mới chỉ đạt 242ha, chủ yếu là keo lai. Nguyên nhân chính là do giá cây giống cấy mô còn cao, trong khi nguồn cung tại chỗ hạn chế, buộc doanh nghiệp phải nhập giống từ tỉnh ngoài.
Cụ thể, nếu cây keo lai giâm hom chỉ có giá khoảng 700 đồng/cây thì cây cấy mô nhập từ Bình Định có giá lên đến 2.000 đồng/cây. Để chủ động nguồn giống chất lượng cao, công ty đang từng bước đầu tư xây dựng vườn ươm, vườn đầu dòng và tiến tới xây dựng phòng nuôi cấy mô nhằm giảm chi phí, nâng cao hiệu quả sản xuất trong thời gian tới.
Theo ông Trần Hưng Lợi, Giám đốc Trung tâm Giống nông nghiệp Phú Yên, công nghệ nuôi cấy mô tuy có nhiều ưu điểm nhưng cũng tồn tại không ít hạn chế. Chi phí đầu tư ban đầu lớn, yêu cầu kỹ thuật cao, nhân lực chuyên môn sâu và chi phí vận hành phòng nuôi cấy mô tốn kém khiến giá thành cây giống cao hơn nhiều so với cây giâm hom, thường gấp 4 đến 5 lần. Bên cạnh đó, quy mô phòng mô nhỏ, nhân lực mỏng cũng là nguyên nhân khiến nguồn cung chưa đáp ứng được nhu cầu thị trường.
Một vấn đề đáng lưu ý là khi mua giống cấy mô từ ngoài tỉnh, người dân và doanh nghiệp cần lựa chọn những địa chỉ uy tín, tuân thủ đúng quy trình kỹ thuật nhằm tránh rủi ro cây giống mang mầm bệnh, sinh trưởng kém.
